Summary:
Within the group we have our segment of machine rolled cigars. These are mainly produced at our Belgian sites in Westerlo and Lummen.
We are looking for a production manager to join our team in Westerlo, where we produce 1.6 billion cigars per year. You will report directly to our Head of Manufacturing EU. What can you expect as a production manager?
Together with 4 team coaches and a technical team coach you will lead the cigar making team in Westerlo (120-150 employees in different shifts). You are responsible for capacity calculation and ensure correct staffing. In order to optimize the utilization at site level, you work closely with your colleague production manager of the primary/bunches department.
On a daily basis you steer our main KPI's regarding Safety, Quality, Adherence To Schedule and OEE on the shop floor. You enthusiastically translate the company vision and our values to the employees and ensure a culture aimed at embracing and successfully implementing change.

Besides the daily priorities you will set the necessary objectives to continuously improve our processes. We strive for success together with our employees. To achieve this, you will help take care of each employee and encourage everyone's further development.
As internal supplier of our cigars you are in close contact with your internal customer, our site in Lummen. You guarantee the quality and communication between the 2 sites. Where necessary, you start improvement projects via RCA.
Together with your colleague production manager in Westerlo you are responsible for the local leadership of the Westerlo site and with your colleagues from Lummen you are part of the Belgian management team. You report to the Head of Manufacturing EU.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):
You combine your experience as a Value Stream/Production Manager in manufacturing environment with a passionate and people-oriented leadership style with strong interest in the shop floor.
You are analytically strong with a focus on results. In addition, you are also decisive and proactive.
Continuous Improvement via lean techniques (5S, RCA, OEE) is your guideline in your daily way of working.
You are a clear communicator with the various stakeholders.
You are fluent in Dutch and English.
